Universitair Medisch Centrum Utrecht

The University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU) in the Netherlands has a long history in the field of transplantation, tumour immunology and immunotherapy.

The UMCU is unique in its interaction between scientists and clinicians. With respect to immunology, this interaction has led to the formation of the Center of Translational Immunology (CTI), where more than 200 scientists and clinicians aim at transferring basic knowledge to clinical applications and answer clinical problems via basic, preclinical and applied science.

The UMCU-CTI is a well-facilitated department with experts in all fields of immunology, and is embedded in the focus area ‘Infection and Immunology’ of the UMCU.

UMCU is structured to facilitate bench-to-bed side research and it has an ample experience in next generation sequencing, flow cytometry, imaging and antibody testing, all supported by state-of-the-art equipment. Moreover, Immuno- informatics has a prominent position within its department.
